The financial system is the way to create social change and the only way this can be done is by incorporating different people with different perspectives, creating new processes, and using new tools. By being allowed to keep their tax status, foundations can be considered part of the problem, as they allocate a very small fraction of their endowment to organizations as grants using the remaining part as they see fit. If we were to have different systems in place foundations would have to use the higher percentage of the endowment.
